How Often Should a Septic Tank be Pumped?
Many people who are used to municipal services have no idea.

.  .   .
Water Problems
The septic tank was last pumped in December 2000. The tank holds 5000 litres.

Water Problems
These photos were taken on 4 October 2005.
The truck uses a long hose to reach the tank.
This saves the grass from being dug up by the heavy truck.
Water Problems
This septic tank is buried very deep underground because it services a basement toilet.

.  .   .
Water Problems
When the septic man was pumping the tank, he was asked if the tank needed it.
He answered that the system was fine and did not really need to be emptied.
It had been running 5 years since the last pump out.
The system was used by 2 people and the tank capacity was 5000 litres.
