![]() This photo was taken by David Callan Do megalithic stones have mystical powers? Why were so many stone circles created by ancient people? I was visiting England some years ago and we were talking about megalithic monuments with an English friend who was in the car with us. "Would you like to see a stone circle?" she asked. "Wow - yes!" That was how I was introduced to the Rollright Stones. I had heard that megalithic stones had power so I started running my hands around the stones to see if I felt anything. The stones seemed to be sleeping so we continued our trip to Stratford upon Avon. Later in the day, someone asked me what time it was. I said that it was about 1:30. How can that be? she said, "We left the house at noon and we have been out for hours." I started pushing buttons on my watch and found that my watch had been reset to zero. "It must have been the Rollright Stones!" she exclaimed. We immediately drove back to the stone circle. When we arrived we met a man who was sitting by the stones with a pendulum. "Are you checking the polarity of the stones?" I asked. The replied that he was taking his PhD at Oxford and his subject was megalithic stones and he was indeed checking the polarity of the stones. We told him about my watch and he thought that the stones have crystal centres that vibrate much more slowly than a tiny watch crystal and the strong vibrations of the large crystal influence the vibrations of the small crystal in the watch and that caused my watch to reset. What do you think? The Rollright Stones can be found close to the charming Cotswold town of Chipping Norton Italy, France & England
