Chez L'Epicier
If you are visiting Montreal, don't miss Old Montreal down by the waterfront. This historic section of town is filled with boutique hotels and wonderful restaurants. If you are the type of person who looks for unique dining experiences, this restaurant is a real treat! Often, the thing we remember on a vacation is an outstanding restaurant. . . . ![]() Their signs and menu look like a paper grocery bag. Even the address of this establishment is hidden in the paper bag code. 311 St. Paul Est. Montreal, Quebec . . . ![]() Many restaurants serve oysters but few serve them the way chef Laurent Godbout does. The porcelain beaker on the left holds an oyster and Champagne! This appetizer is a real treat for seafood lovers. Notice the two disks of butter, one is a mixture of butter and mustard. . . . ![]() Chef Godbout's filet is served with carrots puréed with butter as well as parmesan panisses. . . . ![]() Montreal's Old Town is a wonderful location for this fabulous restaurant. There are many eating places in this part of Montreal but this is one of the best. . . . ![]() Chez L'Epicier is very easy to find but look closely, the signs in the windows are small. When the food is this good, a large sign isn't needed - people will find an outstanding restaurant. This location is very close to a fine hotel - Auberge du Vieux Port.
