Le Petit Clocher
. . .

|
The food at Le
Petit Clocher is superb. As you can see by the muffins and the poached
egg on salmon, owner-chef Richard Pilon is a master of his craft.

Why have I done this review?
So often you find complaints about
the service people receive. I am going to do reviews of places where I
feel people have done an outstanding job and deserve praise for what
they do. Keep watching this website. I'll soon add more reviews of
outstanding places.

In the spring of 2004 we
decided to visit the fabulous ski area north of Montreal. The many
small towns in the Laurentians have become a gastronomic delight.
Restaurants have sprung up everywhere and places that were small
villages thirty years ago, may now boast fifty or sixty restaurants.
Many of these restaurants are as fine as you will find in large
metropolitan areas as Québec has inherited the fine touch with
food as you find in their ancestral homeland of France.
We were lucky enough to book into Le Petit Clocher just after the new
owner Richard Pilon had taken over.
The rooms in this cozy little inn are not large but they are adequate
because of the large common area available to guests. This living room
has many places to sit and plenty of reading material for those who
wish to sit and relax.
The big advantage of a B&B is the fact you can converse with the
owner who will tell you of his first hand experience with the local
restaurants.
Richard is an old hand at cooking as he has owned a small chain
of eating establishments in Montreal.
He uses his skills well as he lays out a myriad of items for your
delectation at breakfast.
It had been a long time since we were so well fed at the breakfast
table.
