Great
Pubs of England
The
Falkland Arms, Great Tew
One of the joys of
travelling in England,
is discovering fabulous pubs.
Whenever I visit the
Cotswolds, I try to
make a visit to Great Tew
to have lunch at The
Falkland Arms. There has
been a pub on this site
for over 500 years
and the popularity of this
pub seems to assure its
future for a few
hundred years more.
The bar has china
handpumps that dispense real ales cellared in the
traditional manner.
There is a giant fireplace and it is a cosy area
to
sit while you eat the tasty meals served in the pub.
. . .
Summer is the time quaffing on
the Falkland's patio is in order.
The real treat for
me when I visit England, is sampling wonderful
ciders.
The Falkland Arms is
a great place to do it.

Charles Wells
Brewery was established in 1876.
It is the largest independent family-owned brewery in the UK.
