Biron
This incredibly imposing castle was constructed in several stages
from the 11th - 18th century by the Gontaut-Biron family.
The Château de Biron is in the tiny commune of Biron in the valley of the Lède, a tributary
of the Lot River in the département of Dordogne in Périgord, part of the region of Aquitaine.
Château de Biron was taken by the Cathars in 1211 but they lost it a year later.
