Tall Ship, Bluenose, Nova Scotia

Bluenose II
Lunenburg is known as home of the tall ships because there is always at least
one in the harbour. Tall ships are attracted to the town because they can find
people with the skills they need to refit their vessels. Many famous ships have
been built in Lunenburg and the many visiting tall ships keep the tradition of
shipbuilding and repair alive to the delight of visitors. David Callan photo.

Bluenose
The Bluenose II is a replica of the most famous schooner on the east coast of North America. Over almost 20 years of racing,
she never lost the international championship. The Bluenose II now takes people out into the North Atlantic to give them a
small taste of sailing in a Lunenburg built tallship. In Lunenburg, framed photos of the Bluenose adorn the walls of most houses &
the more affluent families hang original oil paintings. The Bluenose Golf Club is in the background - a  beautiful 9 hole course.
This photo was taken by Bob Hardy of Vergennes, Vermont in mid September 2001.
